hemen her islemi yapabilmeye basladik ki yeterindece ilgilenmedigimiz
halde..
Sadece driverlari ile ilgili biraz sorunlari olabilir.
Linux; kadar wellknown olayabilir yada daha buyuk bir gelisitirici kitlesi
desem daha dogru olacak. Ancak Linux serverlar bazinda ise biraz sıkınti
yaratiyor gelismekte olan ve surekli kernel derleyen bir sistem icin
sunucu dusunmek biraz cesaret derim.
Ben hayatimda ilk defa cvsup yaptim :) inanilmaz bisi idi. Linux da kernel derlerken kernel mi beni
derliyordu ben mi kernel i bilmiyorum. Ancak sunu soyleyim ki Linux PC lerde ve
small businesslerda sanirim cok daha ustun kisaca windowsun tahtina
tek rakip Linux ve olmalida.
Ancak serverlar ve networkler bazinda Linux henuz bu denli basarili degil
ama cok hizli gelisiyor ileride ne olur bilinmez.
Cevremdeki hemen tum arkadas dost aile fertleri HomePC
lerinde Linux kullaliyor kullansinda. Ancak Serverlarda buyuk
networklerde risktir bence.. Guvenlik yuzunden risk, staroffice
denemdim denerim ancak ben Linux ve FreeBSD bazindaki tartismayi
gereksiz buluyorum biri PC lerde, digeri ise Networklerde kusursuz
gozukmekte.
Bir donem once linkler linkler dolayisi ile enderunix.org a ulastim ve
arkadaslar sizler daha once hic IPF.rules u
bunca iyi aciklayan bir site gordunuz mu? satir satir... neyin ne
oldugunu gordugunuz bir dokuman daha bunun uzerine de ipf.rules u
anlamadim diyen cikmaz ben oradan feyz oladim uzun sureler.

Ayrica insanlar sorsun tabiki sorsun ama denesin de sorup birakmasin en
iyi fikir sizin urettiginizdir. Ben denedim, certificated IRIX adminiyim
sonraki zamanlarda linux ile de calistim cesitli serverlar kurdum (FTP, mail, FW, Web, File)
kullandim. Elbetteki Microsoft ile kiyas goturmez ayrica home pc
piyasasinda kisa zamanda ustunluk alacaktir eminim. Startofficinden
tutun ki winmodemleri bile tanimalarindan vs vs elbette
inanilmaz gelismeler, surekli gelisen bir kernel acik bir firsat ancak
Elbette ki kimin ne icin hangi yapilanmada Linux hangisinde *BSD
kurulumunun en iyi performansi verecegini bilmesi icin once denemesi
gerek derim. Deneyin gorun... karari siz verin insanlar tartisir.
Ayrica daha onceki maillerde belirtildigi gibi baska parametrelerde
vardir is sadece kurulum ile bitmiyor ardindan gelemesi gereken olmaz
olmazlar vardir kisaca is bir butundur. Ben FreeBSD kullaniyorum ve
serverlarda eger bir faul u cikmazsa da omrumce kullanacagim.
Artik onlarca para verip ne SGI nede Sun vs vs almam... deneyin derim
performanslari ortada..

Not so many people know, but open source BSD UNIX powers about 1 million of servers.
To be exact, free BSD is not covered by GPL open source license (although publicly available in source code format),
but rather BSD license.
Unlike GPL, BSD license does not require modifications of sources to be submitted back to the community.
May be this is one of the reasons why BSD didn't gained popularity of Linux.
Currently 3 flavors of BSD UNIX available: FreeBSD (4,100 software packages),
NetBSD (2,000 software packages) and OpenBSD (1,000 software packages).
Further I will refer to all three as free BSD.
As server platform, free BSD from the technical point of view was clearly superior to Linux with kernel v2.2.
However, Linux kernel 2.4 allowed to match both platforms in almost all aspects.
FreeBSD currently powers high-loaded sites like Yahoo and cdrom.com.
The last handles 750 GB of transfers per day and 3600 simultaneous connections on single Pentium Pro 200 PC.
