NOVELL SuSE LINUX'U SATIN ALIYOR!
Microsoft'un ezeli rakibi Novell SuSE Linux'u satın 210 milyon dolara satın
alıyor. IBM Novell ile anlaşmaası sonucunda 50 milyon dolarlık özel Novell
hissesi satın alarak Linux işletim sistemine olan desteğine devam ediyor.
Salı günü açıklanan haber dünyanın en popüler ikinci Linux dağıtımı Almanya
merkezli SuSE için çok sevindirici. SuSe Linux RedHat'in ardından dünyada en
çok kullanılan ikinci Linux dağıtımı. SuSE Avrupada en çok kullanılan
dağıtım. Novell'in SuSE'yi alması Amerika'da da SuSE'nin yükseleceğinin
göstergesi.
Novell'in dağıtım ağıyla SuSE'nin başarılı sunucu ve eposta sunucusu
yazılımları Amerika'da da çok popüler olacağa benziyor.
Novell Netware işletim sistemi eskiden en çok kullanılan ağ işletim sistemi
idi. Microsoft'un Windows'u ile rekabet edemiyince neredeyse yok oldu.
Novell daha önce Ximian'ı satın alarak Linux'a yatırım yapmaya başlamıştı.
Novell Microsoft ile rekabete Linux ile devam edicek.
IBM Novell ile SuSE Linux'un tüm IBM sunuculara desteği konusunda anlaşmış
ayrıca 50 milyon dolarlık Novell hissesi alarak Novell'e hem ortak hemde
destek olmaya karar verdi.
Novell eskiden sahibi olduğu Unix işletim sisteminin çok geniş haklarını
halen elinde tutuyor. Bu SCO 'nun açtığı davaların Novell'i etkilemeyeceği
ve SCO'nun davalarını kötü etkileyeceği düşünülüyor.
Novell'in Amerika'da olması geniş dağıtım ağı ve reklam imkanı olması
RedHat'ın kendi kalesinde büyük bir rakip ile karşı karşıya kalmasına sebep
olacak.
Tüm olup bitenlerin Linux camiasına hayırlı olmasını diliyoruz.
