System Support Specialist-Unix (Ref:UNXL1)

 

THE PERSON

* 1-5 years experience in system operation activities

* Basic to Advanced level Operating System Knowledge (in Unix -
Solaris, HP UX and Linux - SuSE, Redhat environments; desired advanced
level), especially administration and problem management

* PC literacy, ability to use office equipment, experience in MS Office
products

Language Skills

* Very good command of English or German

 

THE JOB

To ensure continuous and efficient operation of Operating Systems and
related Software (based on Network, Hardware and Infrastructure IT
domains; used for Applications) through troubleshooting, diagnosing and
resolving incidents.

Main Tasks

* All tasks are mainly based on Unix Servers
* Task Management (Stop/start services, routine checks)
* 1st Level Fault Management:
* Trouble Ticket (re-)prioritization and correlation
* Trouble Analysis (Diagnose faults using knowledge tools)
* Resolve problems immediately mainly using the Knowledge Base
* Analysis of used knowledge tools
* Documentation of actions undertaken
* Ticket routing (Escalate unresolved issues to 2nd Level /
Stand-by team)
* Ensure Data Privacy Protection and Security
