In USA all Universities survive largely on alumni contributions! A few days
ago, Johns Hopkins University in the state of Maryland, USA received the
largest single alumnus gift of US $ 55 million. This is not, by any means,
a record number for a North American university, but it is impressive,
isn't' it? To give a statistical piece of information, universities in the
USA organize large fundraising campaigns every 3-to-5 years and collect US
$300-to-500 million, apart from the constant contributions that come from
many sources like trust funds opened by thankful alumni.

We organized the first collective effort to raise money for The oldest
flagship of Turkey Istanbul Teknik Universitesi: a raffle campaign that is
aimed at collecting US $100,000. to request a number of tickets to sell in your

The raffle grand prize is:
Round trip airfare tickets for two (2), from the buyer's
location in North America to Istanbul
or
Round trip airfare tickets for two (2), from the buyer's
location in Turkey to New York.
or if you are located in Europa or Middle East
Round trip airfare tickets for two (2), from the buyer's
location to Turkey or to Newyork, or one round trip ticket
for each destination.
You must observe the following rules to ensure proper tracking of the
ticket bearers and their inclusion into the raffle drawing which will be
held on March 8, 1996 during the American Turkish Council's annual
conference in Washington, DC, USA. during the Scheduled ITU Alumni Regional
convention, We will ask Sayin Demirel to be present and draw the luck winner.
Rules are as follows:
1. Virtually anybody can enter by buying a ticket!
2. Collect the tickets' worth (US $10.00 each) in cash or
check only.
3. Please write or have checks written to: "ITU Mezunlari Dernegi"
Turkiyede "Gazanfer Ugural - ITU icin".
4. Fill out the necessary information about the buyer on the
ticket stub on the left (name, tel.no., address).
5. Place all checks and ticket stubs in an envelope addressed
