Arkadaslar bir konuda kendi gorusumu belirtmek istiyorum. Lutfen =
ingilizce veya baska dilde alintilar uzerine tartisilmak isteniyorsa en =
azindan ozet bir turkce karsiliginida yazalim. Herkes ingilizce bilmek =
zorunda degil ve burasi bir turkce tartisma grubu ve ozellikle ingilizce =
bilmeyenlerin en buyuk tercih sebebide bu. Bu sekilde ingilizce bilenler =
ve bilmeyenler gibi bir tartisma gruplasmasi doguyor kanimca. Ve gunler =
boyunca surecek tartismalar sadece ingilizce bilenler tarafindan =
yorumlaniyor. Eminimki sizde ingilizce bilmeyenlerinde bu tartismalara =
katilmasini istersiniz.
2. olarak benim gorusum Turkiyenin microsoft-dominated olmasinin buyuk =
sebebi asagidada bahsedildigi gibi lisans olaylarinin yeterince =
oturmamis olmasi ve bilgisayara baslayan herkesin bedava kullandigini =
dusunerek windowsla baslamasi. Turkiye de linux kullanma oraninin diger =
ulkelere gore az olmasinin en buyuk nedeni bu bence. Sirf uzerinde =
windows lisansi var diye kimse markali bilgisayarlara para vermiyor =
cunku fiyat daha pahali. Bu yuzden herkes toplama bilgisayar alip kacak =
windows kullaniyor. Bu yuzden linux bedava iyi ama destegi yok veya =
turkce destegi iyi o yuzden microsoft kullaniliyor gorusune =
katilmiyorum. Bizim ulkemizde anlayis linux bedava ama microsoftu da =
bedava kullaniyorum nasil olsa mantigi. Bu da linuxun en buyuk avantaji =
olan bedava olma olayini ortadan kaldiriyor.

Exciting news and very good idea. The urls doesn't work though.=20
Unfortunately Turkey has become more microsoft-dominated than even US.
Mostly because of the piracy and excellent Microsoft promotion and their
good support for Turkish. Turkish websites are mostly IE only. Even some
major news websites depend on VB. Oh, and the government websites.=20
It is easy to get your hands on windows 2003 advanced server and Visual
Studio.Net 2003; no wonder there is a high level of adoption of ASP and
ASP.net among developers.=20
I have to note that, very recently Php has become somehow popular. maybe
people got tired of VB at some point.=20
I am glad that there is an effort to increase awareness of Gnome.
Probably the best way to promote gnome is through a live CD, much like
knoppix.
