Merhaba

OpenOffice.org 2.0'ın açılış ekranlarının
arasında oylama yapılıyor. En çok oyu alan
açılış ekranı, 2.0 için seçilecek.

Şimdiye kadar 300 açılış ekranı önerilmiş.
Sanırım hala göndermek için zaman var.

Detaylar aşağıda.

İyi çalışmalar
Görkem

Konu: [project leads] Voting for OOo2.0 Splashscreen

Hi,

As some of you may already know, there has been a request from the
developers for a new splashscreen for OOo 2.0.

The Art Project has organized a contest and so far, the response has
been great and we now have almost 300 submissions both from members of
the Art project, as well as from people outside the community.

The issue in which the submissions are attached is 36491:
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=36491

The rules page is:
http://marketing.openoffice.org/art/rules_2.0_splashscreen.html

If your internet connection is good enough, you can see most of the
submitted images loaded by this page I setup:
http://oosurvey.gratismania.ro/splashscreen/

The deadline for the submissions is December 10 and new proposals
continue to come.
Because of this overwhelming response, organizing a simple vote from
which the community would sellect the winner has become impossible
without first making a sellection of the best splashscreens that would
enter the voting.

Aside from eliminating duplicates and other submissions that do not
correspond from technical point of view, we have found two methods of
doing the pre-sellection:

A. By nominating a council from the community who will eliminate on
certain criterias part of the submissions. The remaining images will
enter the community voting.

B. Succesive voting sessions untill we reach an acceptable number of
images for the final voting.

Asking on the lists about which method would be best, the response so
far is that method A (COUNCIL) is preferred.
Here is the message that started that thread on
art@marketing.openoffice.org and on discuss@:
http://marketing.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=art&msgNo=338

Further more, seeing that Council seems to be the prefferred method, we
started a thread on criterias by which we judge de entries and filter
submissions:
http://marketing.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=art&msgNo=354
This should constitute an orientative helper when sellecting.

If method 2 is chosen (succesive voting), things are simple to organize.
But if method 1 (Council) is chosen (and this seems to be the trend), we
have to organize this and reach a consensus on the Council untill
December 10th.

NOW:
There are two ways of creating the council if we are to use this method:

1. Nominating a Council of 5 community members to judge the submissions.
[One message suggesting this is:
http://marketing.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=art&msgNo=342
This message also nominates some possible candidates.
To this one I would add the proposal to have also a representative from
the developers in this group too, as there may be technical issues in
integrating the new splashscreen.]

2. Also, a legitimate group of community members to judge the
submissions and do the pre-sellection consists in members of the Project
Leads list as a whole.

Arguments in favor of either one exist and I mention only one for each:
Method 1: a council of 5 or 6 will have better coordination in deciding.
Method 2: project leads are representatives from the whole community.

Which of these two methods do you think it is best ?

If your choice is the small Council, be aware that this requires an
important amount of work, so, please, if you are available and you want
to help with this, nominate yourself for this task so we can select the
needed amount of people.

Other suggestions/ammendments to all of the above procedure ?

Thanks in advance for any ideas and help.
And a big hurray to the members of the Art project
(http://marketing.openoffice.org/art/) who have done a great job. ;-)

Best regards,
Cristian
