Neden olsun ki ? Mandrake ile gelen manpage'de aynen su yaziyor:
Halt notes that the system is being brought down in the
file /var/log/wtmp, and then either tells the kernel to
halt, reboot or poweroff the system. If halt or reboot is
called when the system is not in runlevel 0 or 6, shut-
down(8) will be invoked instead (with the flag -h or -r).
Yani aleti eger normal bir runlevel'da reboot yaparsaniz, shutdown
script'lerini calistiriyor. Bunlar da -eger dogru bir sekilde yazilmislarsa,
ki bircok linux dagitiminda oyle-, uzak dosya sistemlerini umount, yerel dosya
sistemlerini de read-only remount ediyor. Read-only remount ederken de
yazilmamis buffer'lar diske yaziliyor. (yani sync() yapiliyor)
Uzun lafin kisasi, reboot -f yapmadikca durum son derece guzel :)
