An raw cd image of easyLinux 2.000 BETA is now
available for free download at:

easyLinux 2.000 includes many improved features!
It is the first graphical Linux installation in
800x600 pixel mode with 8bit color depth
(as long as your card supports the VESA2.0
standard). Also most wheel mice are now supported.
eL aims the goal to be a perfect multimedia
desktop and gaming platform. Major efforts are taken
in graphical configuration of radio and TV cards,
joysticks and in supporting games. The ALSA sound
drivers and OSS lite make many new sound cards
available.
Installation via NFS is now possible: you can
easily setup an install server and your clients
will be installed quickly - they even detect
their network interfaces and setup an IP address
automatically via DHCP.
The final distribution comes again with Sun's StarOffice
and a 30 day trial version of Applix office solution.
Comfortable configuration of proxy, samba, mail,
masquerading, print server, network interfaces,
etc. make the services up and running in minutes.
The 4-5 CDs of the full package contain eTools,
many KDE-applications, sane, the gimp, kISDN,
languages like C/C++, perl, java, phyton,
games + Loki demos, sources, and a printed manual.
Remember: eL is not just another nice idea how to improve
Linux and make it more comfortable for users being
converting from Windows to Linux but it's the long
awaited *international*launch*of*a*great*Linux* that
will prove to be extremely useful for all of yours who
do _not_wish_ to study HOWTOs the whole night through
and who just _cannot_afford_the_time_ to dig into lot's
of configuration scripts in order to set up your Linux.
