This site contains some of the best from the British Columbia Archives.
The various topics include: Families in B.C. History, Communities in B.C.
History,
First Nations' Art in B. C., The Cariboo Gold Rush, Multiculturalism,
Social Institutions, First Nations in B. C., Economy and Technology, B.C.
Resource Development, Women in B. C. History, Art in B.C. History and of
course a Teacher's Corner. Each of the sections are all matched with the
appropirate curriculum IRP's. A favorite link of mine was the wonderful
art work on the First Nations page.
This site would be useful to develop various thematic approaches to any of
the subjects. Of course the graphics are specatular and any followup to a
local museum would be a wonderful way to have your students come even
closer to "living" history.
The Amazing Time Machine is hosted by the British Columbia Archives and is
suitable for students in grades K-12 and is located at :

NewsAhead is on the Web to meet the demand for a central source of information about coming news. Some stories take months of preparation. Planners need to know of future news as early as possible. The Newsahead designers recognized that nothing is more central than the Internet or more limited than time. Entries are tightly written to keep regional lists short, and provide enough information for decisions to be taken about further research and news coverage.
