<CENTER><B>What is omniORB2 ?</B></CENTER>
<P>
omniORB2 is a robust, high-performance CORBA 2 ORB, developed by
<A href="http://www.orl.co.uk/">ORL</a>. We have decided to make omniORB2
freely available.
<A HREF="http://www.orl.co.uk/omniORB/omniORBWhy.html">Here's why</A>.

<P>

See a summary of <A HREF="http://www.orl.co.uk/omniORB/omniORBTechnical.html">technical details</A>
of omniORB2. The native transport is IIOP, and it comes complete with
a COS Naming Service. It supports C++ language bindings.

<P>

<FONT COLOR = "#FF0000"> The latest release is omniORB_2.5.0.</FONT>

<P>

There are some <A HREF="http://www.orl.co.uk/omniORB/omniORBPerformance.html">performance measurements</A>.
It's pretty quick, possibly the fastest CORBA 2 compliant ORB around.

<P>

Further <A HREF="http://www.orl.co.uk/omniORB/omniORBDocumentation.html">documentation on
omniORB2</A> is available, and a <a href="javaORBs.html">report</a> on
interoperating between omniORB and a number of Java ORBs is available. If you
can't find out what you want to know from any of the above, contact
<A HREF="mailto:omniorb@orl.co.uk">omniorb@orl.co.uk</A>. We'd like
to hear from you.
